Set within unspoilt nature, Villa Gaudiosi is a historic estate in one of Abruzzo’s most secluded corners, shaped by a story that weaves together nineteenth-century noble families and wartime memories. Today, the villa is being brought back to life to offer a unique and immersive stay, suspended in time, amid evocative D’Annunzio-inspired atmospheres, centuries-old trees, traditional flavours and thoughtfully curated paths.

Il Duca Domenico Gaudiosi (1807-1853) eresse questa dimora come rifugio campestre tra le colline incontaminate di Montebello di Bertona, tra giardini, vigneti, una rustica villa e una piccola cappella. Nel primo '900 la nipote, Giuseppina Duchessa di Canosa, la ribattezzò Villa Pina, e la tenuta si animò di storie sull'esuberante figlio, il Signorino, che la popolò di animali selvaggi ed esotici. Durante l'occupazione nazifascista dell’Abruzzo divenne presidio tedesco mentre, nella storia più recente, ospitò aste d'arte fino al terremoto del 2009.
Dopo un imponente consolidamento sismico e un attento recupero, la tenuta è oggi un’incantevole cornice di soggiorni, ricevimenti ed eventi culturali. La Villa ospita quattro suite e spazi per l'otium, la Cappella restaurata e un Padiglione affacciato sul bosco secolare. Due ampie corti, tigli a Nord e paesaggio collinare a Sud, avvolgono il tutto in una placida atmosfera, mentre sullo sfondo il Gran Sasso invita all'esplorazione tra montagne maestose, sentieri e eremi segreti.
